Here
are a number of ways you can get more information and assistance
with Scid.
There is now an illustrated Scid Tutorial being
written which is aimed at new users. The tutorial is still very
incomplete, but is under construction. Feedback is welcome.
The Scid
help pages are available here at the website, as well as by
pressing F1 in Scid itself. Most help pages have been translated into Deutsch and some into Swedish.
The mailing list scid-users@lists.sourceforge.net
has nearly 300 subscribers and receives up to a few posts each day.
Questions are usually answered promptly by an experienced Scid user. Here's
how to subscribe.
When subscribing to scid-users, you can choose to
receive each post immediately (almost 200 readers are subscribed this
way) or get a whole day's postings in a single daily digest. To avoid
spam, the list of subscribers is private and only subscribers
may post messages. (Without this restriction, the list would
get about 10-15 spam emails a day.) If you want to be able to post from
a non-subscribed email address or have any problems joining the list,
just ask
Shane.
There is also a Scid
forum which is may be more helpful to new users than the
mailing list. The forum is not managed by Scid's developer, but I
browse it and post there occasionally.
You can search the whole Scid website (including
these main pages, the online help and the tutorial) using the search
box in the left hand panel.
See the Author
page to contact the Scid developer.
